The unprecedented use of the word ‘unprecedented’ in recent weeks is now unprecedented, according to Oxford English Dictionary researcher Simon Williams.
“We’ve seen unprecedented exponential growth in the use, “Williams explained. We’ve never seen such unprecedented use of the word ‘unprecedented’.
I made reference to the above quote in order to emphasize that the year 2020 is unprecedented for so many reasons. The major reason being the global plague of COVID-19 and its attendant implications on all facets of life.
Our social life has changed permanently. How we work. How we worship. How we do business. How we think. Every aspect of humanity has evolved. According to Cindy Trimm “the life you and I were born into does not exist any longer.” Humanity can only think forward because there’s nothing or let me be modest and say there’s not much to go back to. . . Virtual experience has come to stay.
Cindy Trimm said if 2020 was ‘woe’ 2021 will be “whao” but that is a discussion for another day.
My focus on this beautiful day is: Against all odds, many of us have countless reasons to be thankful to the Source and Keeper of life. The hymn writer says:
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
This Monday morning, I count my many blessings and recall that thirty years ago God gifted me with a special creation of His, a beautiful angel of a daughter. Thirty years ago, I became a mother!
Today, I recall that in the midst of the pandemic, lockdown, I birthed a long overdue vision – CONNECT COACHING CENTER – a faith-based life coaching focusing on strengthening the Body of Christ with a vision of connecting individuals to themselves, their Maker and their world in order to live life of impact. Date was June 20, 2020. Please watch the video below.
Against all odds, as I review the year 2020, all I can see is the goodness of the Lord around me. Sure enough, there are trials and tribulations but through it all, we are still here and thriving.!
As we look ahead to 2021 with hope, I challenge you to take a notepad with a pen and start to name your blessings, count them one by one and you’ll be amazed how you too have been blessed in 2020, despite all odds!
Have a new start today. It is Monday morning. Reach out to me if you have self-doubt or you feel stuck, I can support you in your journey to your next level.
