Lesson 6: A Time to Conceive: Lessons from the Birth of Jesus
As we continue our Christmas Stories Series, we find ourselves at the threshold of a new year, filled with promise and possibility. In Luke 2:6-7, we read about the miraculous conception of Jesus, a reminder that this season is a time to conceive – not just physically, but also spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
Conception is a powerful process that can happen in an instant, but its execution often requires patience, trust, and perseverance. Just as a baby is conceived in a moment but takes nine months to arrive, our ideas, dreams, and visions also need time to gestate and mature. The story of Jesus’ birth encourages us to conceive anew, to dream big, and to trust that God will bring our desires to fruition.
As we stand at the cusp of a new year, I urge you not to let this season pass you by. Take time to tarry in prayer, to seek God’s presence, and to demand conception – whether it’s for a child, a business idea, or clarity on your divine assignment. If you’re married, join hands with your spouse and pray together, just as Hannah prayed for a child and God answered her cry.
Remember the story of Jacob, who received a business idea from God and became wealthy beyond his wildest dreams? Or the story of the prophet Isaiah, who declared that God would give us a plan and a purpose, and that we would prosper? These stories are precedents for us, reminders that God is a God of conception and delivery.
As we look to the new year, I declare that 2025 will be a year of multiple deliveries for you. You will see the manifestation of your desires, the fulfillment of your dreams, and the realization of your visions. Isaiah 66:7-9 reminds us that our God is a God who makes conception and delivery possible, and that He will bring to pass all that He has promised.
So let us approach this new year with faith, hope, and expectation. Let us conceive anew, and trust that God will bring our desires to fruition. In Jesus’ name, I pray that 2025 will be a year of multiple deliveries, a year of abundance, joy, and fulfillment. Amen.
