How long O Lord is a cry of despair.
As the pandemic and it’s devastation lingers, that appears to be the question which almost everyone is asking. Would we ever witness life pre-COVID-19? When will this lockdown be completely lifted?
Despite the seeming hopelessness that appears to have permeated the entire world due to COVID-19, there’s hope. It is a sure hope, hope that can never be disappointed. How? Where?
There’s hope in the resurrected Christ.
Jesus, the Living hope, proved by His resurrection that life exists after death.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
I Peter 1:3 NKJV
By placing our faith in the God of hope, we have hope. The origin of hope is in the God of hope. The reason for hope is Jesus. The source of hope is in you is the Holy Spirit. This hope is NOT wishful thinking. It is rooted in what God has done for us and is doing in us.
Our ability to endure, persevere, and overcome is fueled by hope.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NKJV
Our hope is in Jesus who is alive forever more; who will one day return and establish His Kingdom forever! Hallelujah!.
This day, He says to you. . .
Refrain:
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
Wave the answer back to Heaven,
“By Thy grace we will.”
1. Ho! my comrades, see the signal,
Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
Victory is nigh!
2 See the mighty host advancing,
Satan leading on;
Mighty men around us falling,
Courage almost gone. [Refrain]
3 See the glorious banner waving,
Hear the bugle blow;
In our Leader’s Name we triumph
Over every foe. [Refrain]
4 Fierce and long the battle rages,
But our help is near;
Onward comes our great Commander,
Cheer, my comrades, cheer! [Refrain]
