“A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!”
John 10:10 TPT
Everyone wants to have more than enough- an entrepreneur wants an overflow of profit, a scientist has an insatiable desire for proven explanation for all things, ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ want everyone to accept the saving grace of Jesus, children want to own all toys if possible and so on. The desire for more is inbuilt in all humans by the Creator Himself. And, He made provision for how this can be accomplished. . .
From 1st of April till date I have anchored a daily event tagged Unlocking Abundance Challenge. The goal is to gain insights into why we may be dissatisfied with our lives or having a sense of lack and how we can unlock fulfillment and joy in all areas of life. In the course of this event, I discovered that people’s motives and motivation level are different. At a point I asked each participant to define what abundance means to them and focus on their expected outcome.
Down below are what abundance means to different people:
“The more you give, the more you can give.” ~ Roy T. Bennett
“God doesn’t come to kill, to steal or to destroy. That’s the enemy. God comes to give abundant life. Know your God so you don’t get confused.” ~ Mike Pilavachi
“The key is for you to discover what you love to do, what you were created to do, and then do it for the people around you with love. That is the abundant life, dear girl, no matter where in the world you live.” ~ Robin Jones Gunn
“It’s been a great experience, it’s been a great adventure to see people who were like me, who did not know that they had the ability or potential to be a winner in life. Once they discover from God’s Word that God wants them to live the abundant life, that God wants them to be successful, God wants them to prosper, God wants them to be a winner then it is amazing how life is turned over on the inside that then they become the winner that God calls them to be.” ~ Jerry Savelle
“The abundant life does not come to those who have had a lot of obstacles removed from their path by others. It develops from within and is rooted in strong mental and moral fiber.” ~ William Mather Lewis
“In recent times, modern science has developed to give mankind, for the first time in the history of the human race, a way of securing a more abundant life which does not simply consist in taking away from someone else.” ~ Karl Taylor Compton
“The abundance of our lives is not determined by how long we live, but how well we live. Christ makes abundant life possible if we choose to live it now.” ~ Barbara Brown Taylor
“Our dreams, like the disciples’, are always too small. We are here to fulfill God’s dream—that we will bring Him glory through a remarkably abundant life. That’s how we find our greatest personal fulfillment, now and for eternity.” ~ Bruce Wilkinson
“Even though God loves us, we still have a problem: sin. It’s important for us to learn how to confront sin and overcome it, because while God loves sinners, He hates sin. And He hates it because of what it does to us and how it keeps us from the abundant life Jesus died to give us.” ~ Joyce Meyer
“Three keys to more abundant living: caring about others, daring for others, sharing with others.” ~ William Arthur Ward
“One of the greatest challenges in creating a joyful, peaceful and abundant life is taking responsibility for what you do and how you do it. As long as you can blame someone else, be angry with someone else, point the finger at someone else, you are not taking responsibility for your life.” ~ Iyanla Vanzant
“Jesus set us free to live the abundant life by being all that He has created us to be and accomplishing all that He has planned for us to do.” ~ Sharon Jaynes
