“1” is too small a number to achieve greatness.
– John Maxwell
There’s no “I” in a team. No one is self-made. We all are products of the collaboration of two people and throughout life, one or several people have wielded significant influence on who we have become today.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”
Proverbs 27:17 NLT
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Proverbs 13:20 KJV
“Without counsel purposes are disappointed: But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
Proverbs 15:22 NKJV
In the story of how David emerged as the Champion, (please read 1 Samuel 17:17-51), several people played significant roles. For instance, if his father had not sent him to take welfare supplies to his brothers in the battlefield, the opportunity to fight Goliath would never have surfaced, his brothers’ rebuke was a motivation to David to demonstrate his hidden warrior skills and his positive mindset. The King not only granted him an unusual permission to fight Goliath but also offered him his personal armory to fight with, which was evidence of his support for David. Although he declined the usage of the King’s armory, due to its inappropriateness for him, yet, the offer was a needed encouragement for him to forge ahead.
